The Battlefield series has become one of EA’s most popular franchises, providing some of the most explosive and addictive multiplayer experiences in any shooter on the market today, rivaling even that of Call of Duty.  Battlefield 3 is no exception; marking the best entry in the series to date, DICE has gone all out to deliver a polished, one-of-a-kind multiplayer experience that you will have a hard time putting down.

This February, co-developer People Can Fly (Painkiller) is leveraging Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 for Bulletstorm, a FPS that makes other FPSes wet their pants and cry themselves to sleep. At least that’s the attitude this game brings to the table.

In reality, during our very short time with the Bulletstorm demo, we got the impression that while the game is delivering absolutely over-the-top action, it’s doing it all tongue-in-cheek. It’s as if Duke Nukem Forever is really releasing next ..read more

The original Dead Space was an uncharacteristic risk for EA to take, but it paid dividends. The IP is now a successful, multi-million dollar franchise. Dead Space’s fresh take on survival horror led to many awards as well as a prequel and apparently a movie is in the works. With the hotly anticipated Dead Space 2 launching early in 2011, EA has teamed up with Visceral Games and Sumo Digital to deliver Ignition as a holdover in the ..read more

We always like to see developers reward their fans with free things, even before their latest game has even come out. Shank developer Klei Entertainment spread word earlier today that they would release the soundtrack for their upcoming XBLA and PSN brawler once the amount of fans on their Facebook page surpassed 1500 fans. The only problem is that Klei underestimated the response they would get, so the soundtrack was not ready for release when they passed 1500 fans. While you ..read more

As the hack-and-slash loot RPG genre is getting a revival on the PC with the release of Torchlight and the upcoming Diablo 3, the consoles haven’t seen much of the genre lately outside of some hybrids like Patapon and Borderlands. Hothead Games and Ron Gilbert are bringing the genre to XBLA and PSN with the kind of humorous spin that you’d expect from the creator of the Monkey Island series.

Dead Space and Dead Space: Extraction were two tense, very well put together survival shooter games published by our new old friend EA. Extraction was a Wii-exclusive prequel that set the stage for the hero of the hour Isaac Clarke, an engineer who most likely spent a lot of time at his local shooting range to relieve the stresses of work. There, he undoubtedly honed skills that allowed him to turn his engineering equipment into deadly limb-severing instruments ..read more

This year’s E3 may be the most important since the 2006 E3 before the launch of the PS3 and Wii since we have a number of hardware announcements that will affect these platforms for the next few years. Sony and Microsoft have new motion control peripherals that are seeking to bring a new audience to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Nintendo and Sony have successors to their current handhelds to announce and/or reveal. Then there are the third ..read more

It looks like there is hope for this godforsaken industry after all. For years we had to deal with crappy licensed games and sequels. And in the middle of a recession where companies are cutting corners as often as employees (though that’s been slowly changing), EA recently announced that they “beat their revenue expectations for the fourth quarter.” Why should you care? Because EA did so after making a point to improve the quality of their games.

Taking a jab at Modern Warfare 2’s controversial Fight Against Grenade Spam video, Dice has released this PSA for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 about random grenade spam. Starring in the video is New York Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia and Private Terrence Sweetwater, one of the stars of the Bad Company series, as they continue to slam Modern Warfare 2 with this great parody video. You can find the video after the jump. The video itself features C.C. warning players against random ..read more

Nerf N-Strike Elite Review

In the middle of last year, Nerf guns became all the rage again for some reason or another.  Some laser tag outlets offered hours where they became Nerf gun battle locations, and everyone from little kids to even college students got involved with the foamy fun.  It wouldn’t be long before EA got involved with the fun with a game for the Wii by the name of Nerf N-Strike, and much to everyone’s surprise, the game was actually pretty solid, ..read more
